Spell leaks!

Here are the rest of the magic spells not listed before. There are also more spells than this in game I believe, and these may or may not be correct.

I would also like to comment that the delay Tasos put out is very good news. The game is really solid and just needs some more time. An additional month feels like enough time to me. Far better than releasing it a month early after all these years of waiting. So again, this is very good news and people should be highly positive about it. Darkfall potentially is a game you could play for a very long time, I know I will. -leakreader2

I suspect most of the necromancy fans are going to be pissed if that is the spell list for that school.

Overall I like the spell schools and it will be hard to choose which ones I want to go into.

(since according to the rules you can't have both earth and wind magic and every other school has a counterpart that you can't train)

@Bartlebe Those are all the schools of magic in the game. Even Tasos confirmed this. He also said there might be more spells then this. Theses might just be the only one available to the testers atm.

These are not all of them. In the videos we've seen a AoE healing spell. Yet its on non of the lists hes provided yet. Im sure there are more spells we don't know of

Spells seem pretty straight forward and to the point. The spell that allows you to pull someone towards yourself (I.E. Chaotic rift/electromag from Warhammer Online) seems like the most fun...

Am I the only one who didn't notice the knockback spells/self launch spells displayed in the video? I.e. the one where the guy superjumps himself by casting a spell over a rock then lands swinging his sword on some guys head (perhaps getting extra damage from the force of falling)

Tornado is the self launching and Healing chant is the aoe healing spell...

Is it just me or are a lot of the spells repeating.

at least every school has a ray + aoe. i dunno just a lot of repeat spells in every school.

You are correct in one way, but there are probably more differences than damage type differentiating them.

Max range
Projectile speed
Average damage
Damage spread
Area
Cooldown
Mana cost
Skill cap contribution
Training speed
Reagent rareness

There are a limited number of basic spell effects you can use with the combat and server system they have. And I do not think the number of really unique spells will be the thing making or breaking the game anyway.

I want to know more on how you train the spell schools. Do you have to learn lesser *and* greater before training any of the others. How much of them do you need?

I also second the one who wants to learn more about the weapon skills.

Also ritual magic was in one of the leaked shots I believe. Though they did announce those 3 schools have been put on hold since they were somewhat redundant with what already was in game, but they did not rule out a further existence for them. maybe they are semi enabled in game right now but not fully?

Tasos Flambouras: There were 12 schools that were upped to 13 schools which got cut down to 10. We may reintroduce the three which were cut (Ritual, Divine, and Wild magic). They were cut because they were redundant the way the other schools worked. The schools that are in at the moment are: Lesser-Greater - Fire - Water - Earth - Air - Witchcraft - Necromancy - Spell Chanting - and Arcane magic.

I agree that people are going to disappointed with the lacking number of sophisticated spells to replenish health, mana and stamina is pretty bad.

Even the damage spells aren't that special when you put the spell schools side by side and notice there's a lot of replication.

I was never a fan of necromancy but I think that whole school is nothing like what people who are fans were expecting of it.

Necromancy isn't the only school that's misnamed.

Water should just be called frost, wind should be called thunder and earth should be called acid.

Very little creativity in the spell schools.

Ahh thanks for the quote Twap, I do vaguely remember reading that now.

But if Tasos is cutting redundent spell schools (They were cut because they were redundant the way the other schools worked.) he might as well just merge all them into one based on what we've seen so far.

I really hope that there are a lot more spells out there. Im imagining leak reader got these lists just by looking at the spell vendors, so hopefully there are more if you kill monsters or something but I doubt it.

@ matt There is also the AoE HoT heal chant and Sacrifice that transfers your health to their's. Seems like Spell chanting is some what like the healer tree.
So their is so far:
Heal self
Heal other
Sacrifice (Health Transfer)
Healing Chant (AoE HoT)
Withches Brew (stam and hp regain)

Most other mmo games look like they have tons of healing spells but thats because they have several classes with healing spells that are all very similar...and they have lesser spells that are eventually replaced by better spells once you level up. Each class in the end, once you are fully leveled, only really has about 5 healing spells that you use regularly.

About the spell trees looking very similar, I blame it on the vague placeholder beta descriptions.

Go to other mmos spell lists, and describe them in similar general terms...
You'll see that you get pretty much the same thing.

heal self

Jonas Barka is right, we also don't know the specifics of the spells. If you notice, none of the fire spells mention that they have knock back, but the videos show that they do. Got to wonder, what else don't these descriptions say?

I can't wait to see what these spells to in action. I think i'm going to go wind and Arcane.

What are the spell pairings again? I assume fire - water are opposite. What are the others?

Arcane - necromancy
Witchcraft - Spell Chanting

Lesser and greater magic aren't limited by this pairing rule.

I believe so, not 100% sure how the pairings work, someone in the comments said that the pairing would mean you can't learn the other, but I can't find the quote on the forums or anywhere about it(doesn't mean it doesn't exist though)

heres the quote on that elemental pairing rule

"5.8. Spell Schools
You can eventually learn all schools: EXCEPT the elemental schools, they have clashing schools. So u gotta pick 2 elemental schools. Water and Fire don't mix, air and earth don't mix. We may make necro and spell singing (bard like spells) clashing too, but this is undecided atm. And you are getting warmer on the necromancy - some necro spells make u take an alignment hit, cause .. well some of those spells are just plain 3V1L

I'm quite sure you cannot have both holy and unholy magic. Witchcraft and spell chanting is not as obvious.

So spells take certain agredients to cast correct? If so, does anyone know how difficult it is to get ingredients for some of the more simple spells? and then maybe for the more powerfull spells?

I thought that Tasos had said the only skills you could not learn were the racial skills.
